This category holds computers for industrial machine vision, currently the VT3000 series touch screen PCs from HIKROBOT. The computer and a capacitive multi-point touch screen with a 15.6-inch diagonal share one housing of 390 mm × 240 mm × 65.8 mm. All models in the series have 8 GB of memory, four GigE ports, four USB 3.0 ports and four RS-232 serial ports and run on 24 VDC. They differ in the processor, from the Intel® Celeron® G4900T to the Intel® Core™ i7-8700T, and in storage: 128 GB SSD with the -NN suffix, 128 GB SSD plus a 2 TB HDD with the -2T suffix.

Choosing a vision controller or panel PC
Processor and storage
The VT3000 series comes with these processors:
- MV-VT3100: Intel® Celeron® G4900T
- MV-VT3300: Intel® Core™ i3-8100T
- MV-VT3500: Intel® Core™ i5-8500T
- MV-VT3700: Intel® Core™ i7-8700T
Each processor level is available as the -NN version with 128 GB SSD and as the -2T version with 128 GB SSD plus a 2 TB HDD. The datasheets of all models list the same 8 GB of memory, interfaces, display and housing, and the same typical power consumption of 120 W.
The manufacturer does not state any computing performance for particular frame rates, resolutions or camera counts. Which level is sufficient depends on the image analysis that is to run on the computer; the technical data alone does not answer that.
Interfaces and operating system
The manufacturer lists four GigE ports, four USB 3.0 ports, one HDMI output with 1920 × 1080 and four RS-232 serial ports that can be switched to RS-485 and RS-422. There are also three digitally isolated inputs and eight opto-isolated outputs.
As the operating system, the manufacturer states Windows 10 in unactivated form. The license and activation therefore have to be settled before commissioning.
Display and operation
The display has a 15.6-inch diagonal, a resolution of 1920 × 1080 and a display area of 344.16 mm × 193.59 mm. The backlight is LED, and the manufacturer states its lifetime as 50,000 hours. It also states 500 cd/m² brightness, a contrast ratio of 1200:1 and a viewing angle of 89° to the left, right, top and bottom.
The touch screen is capacitive with multi-point detection; under Windows it supports ten touch points. The manufacturer states a surface hardness of at least 6 H, a transmittance of at least 87% and a lifetime of 35 million touches.
Housing and operating conditions
The housing measures 390 mm × 240 mm × 65.8 mm and weighs approx. 4.8 kg. The supply voltage is 24 VDC, and the typical power consumption is 120 W. The manufacturer states an operating temperature of 0 °C to 50 °C, a relative humidity of 20% to 80% without condensation and CE and KC as certifications.
The manufacturer does not state an ingress protection rating for the series. If the panel PC is to work in a dusty or humid environment, we clarify this with the manufacturer before you order.
