Code type and size, printing or marking process, reading distance, field of view, speed and possible changes in orientation all matter. Use the filters for a first technical shortlist. Then check the communication interfaces, inputs and outputs, mounting, optics and lighting of the specific model. A datasheet value alone is no guarantee of a successful read. For traceability, it also matters how the read data is handed over to the controller or a higher-level system and processed there.
