Fixed-mount code readers for industrial processes

A fixed-mount code reader has to bring together the code, the object motion and the installation situation. Code type and size, printing or marking process, reading distance, field of view, speed and possible changes in orientation all matter. Surface and lighting also affect whether a 1D, 2D or DPM code can be captured in the real process.

Fixed-mount code readers for industrial processes

Use the filters for a first technical shortlist. Then check the communication interfaces, inputs and outputs, mounting, optics and lighting of the specific model. A datasheet value alone is no guarantee of a successful read. For traceability, it also matters how the read data is handed over to the controller or a higher-level system and processed there.
