High resolution, measurement accuracy and an optimal image quality

The lens focuses the light scattered by the test object and sends it to the camera sensor, which evaluates the image information and reproduces it as a recognizable image.

Image processing systems with a fixed integrated lens are equipped with autofocus and thus have a defined field of view at a certain distance from the test object. In contrast, systems with interchangeable lenses can be individually assembled depending on the application, always depending on the right combination of lens and intermediate ring, which are connected with either a C-mount or a CS-mount.

Range of vision lenses for industrial applications

As with lighting, there is a very wide range of types and models of lenses from various recognized manufacturers, including Edmund Optics, Tamron, Fujifilm (Fujinon), RICOH IMAGING or Opto Engineering, which offer high-quality lenses for every possible imaging application, from standard to special solutions.

When selecting a lens, particular attention must be paid to the resolution and pixel size of the camera used. But also the distance to the test object, the field of view as well as the depth of field or the properties of the object to be inspected are decisive.

Entocentric lenses, also called normal lenses, which have a fixed focal length. They are used for most applications in image processing, such as presence checks, OCR and barcode reading or pick & place applications.
Telecentric lenses ensure distortion-free imaging of the object and provide constant resolution over the entire image area. They are particularly suitable for high-precision measuring and inspection tasks in image processing and optical metrology.

Zoom lenses that have a variable focal length and are best suited for applications with varying working distance and field of view.

360-degree lenses that allow the inspection object to be imaged from all sides using just a few cameras. They are suitable, for example, for inspecting exterior surfaces and cavities.

Macro lenses used for close-up photography such as capturing very small sections of the image.

UV lenses used in inspection and control applications outside the visible light spectrum.

As an independent partner, GK VISION GmbH – VISIONTECHNIK cooperates with the above-mentioned manufacturers, among others, in order to provide you with the best possible lenses for your individual image processing task. Call us, we will be happy to advise you.
