Area scan cameras for industrial machine vision

An area scan camera captures a complete two-dimensional image. Which industrial camera suits the task, however, does not depend on resolution or frame rate alone. Field of view, smallest detectable feature, object motion, exposure time and the interfaces already in place have to be considered together.
