XoCLink area scan cameras with coaxial transmission

XoCLink is a coaxial interface from HIKROBOT: image data, power and trigger run over one coaxial cable to a matching frame grabber, similar in principle to CoaXPress but as a manufacturer specific design with its own acquisition card. The cameras combine high frame rates with simple cabling over larger distances. VISIONTECHNIK offers XoCLink area scan cameras with 5, 12.3 and 20 megapixels, sensors from 2/3 inch to 1.1 inch, 22 to 80 frames per second, in mono and colour versions with C-mount.

Where XoCLink is the right interface

XoCLink is a choice for systems built entirely from HIKROBOT components: camera, frame grabber and software from one source, with coaxial cable, power over the cable and trigger on the line.

Anyone who wants to run cameras from different manufacturers on one acquisition card turns to CoaXPress. The frame grabber category lists the XoCLink cards with two and four channels.

Selection criteria

These questions matter most for the choice:

  • Resolution: 5, 12.3 or 20 megapixels
  • Frame rate: 80 frames per second at 5 megapixels, 36.6 at 12.3 and 22 at 20 megapixels
  • Sensor size: 2/3 inch, 1 inch or 1.1 inch with 2.4 µm or 3.45 µm pixels
  • Mono or colour
  • Frame grabber: channel count and cable length matching the system

No. Both transmit over coaxial cable, but XoCLink is a manufacturer specific interface from HIKROBOT that needs a XoCLink frame grabber. CoaXPress is a cross-manufacturer standard.
Which frame grabber fits?
A XoCLink frame grabber from HIKROBOT with a matching channel count. The models are listed in the frame grabber category; we check the assignment to the camera before ordering.
How are the cameras powered?
Over the coaxial cable from the frame grabber if the grabber supports it; otherwise through the power connector of the camera.
