The Smart-VS is a vision sensor that is taught by machine learning instead of being parameterized with inspection tools. The operator shows it good parts and bad parts; from these it learns the distinction. Because the evaluation runs on fixed computing hardware, the response time is the same in every inspection case and therefore predictable. Typical tasks are checking labels and closures on filling lines and checking the position of objects before labeling, regardless of material, color and format.
