The OPT-IXX-IR series emits in the near infrared at 850 nm or 940 nm. Infrared light penetrates some plastics and packaging, suppresses color differences and is almost invisible to the eye - which is why it is used for fill-level checks, see-through inspections and in glare-free work areas.
